Today I have given the brief notes on MOU. when we are reading newspapers we come across a word called 'MoU'. MoU is Memorandum of Understanding. A MoU describes a bilateral or multilateral agreement between two or more parties. For example, our country needs to develop bullet trains project; it can’t do it on its own as it costs a huge amount. So, it will pact an agreement with some other country which will help both financially and through infrastructure. This pact is known as MoU. Here we are providing you with some of the most important MoUs that have happened till now from jan to july 2014.

MOU’s signed in 2014 :

India and Maldives signed three memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of Health on 2^nd January, 2014 in New Delhi

India & UK signed MOU to enhance the collaboration within the framework of UK India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI) on 16^th January, 2014 in New Delhi

The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) signed MoUs with FCCI to collaborate in the areas of corporate social responsibility competition law, corporate laws, corporate governance, Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development of the Industry and the economy on 17^thJanuary, 2014

India and Japan signed the Memorandum in tourism on 22^nd January, 2014 in New Delhi

India and UAE signed an MOU to promote cooperation in renewable energy, especially in areas of solar energy and wind power on 18^th January in Abu Dhabi.

Six public sector units (PSUs) signed MOU to set up world’s largest 4000 MW ultra solar power project on 29^th January, 2014 in Rajasthan

India – Czech Republic sign MOU on technical co-operation in Railways at Rail Bhawan, New Delhi on 19^th August, 2014 and the MOU was signed by Arunendra Kumar, Chair man/Railway Board and Miloslav Stasek, Ambassador of Czech Republic

India & Bahrain signed six MoUs which are given as follows:

Between Bahrain Development Bank (BDB) and SIDBI, this is for Partnering enhancement of financial and non-financial services for SMEs in Bahrain.

Between Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) and NASSCOM, this promotes cooperation in ICT and exchange of IT missions.

Between EDB & CII, this will allow for reaching out to the companies in each other country for newer business opportunities.

Between Tamkeen and National Skill Development Corporation: This will promote sharing of equity and experience in technical of vocational training.

Between Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and University of Bahrain: it will promote better understanding and cooperation among students and facult. This is the first MoU between the two universities.

Between National Authority for Qualifications & Quality Assurance of Education & Training (QQA), Bahrain & National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), which allows for partnership to enhance external quality assurance in both legal and jurisdictions and to develop higher education institutions.
